In this season of social distancing, we decided to do something a little different with our spring fundraiser by bringing our event to you!
Cooking for a Cause took place on Saturday June 13th with a live virtual cooking class hosted by Chef Trevor Bird of Fable Kitchen, an incredible local restaurant serving up delicious, seasonal farm-to-table meals.
Chef Trevor curated a gourmet three course meal and all ingredients were prepared fresh by Fable Kitchen. Our team delivered everything right to participants’ doors before the event. 138 home chefs cooked alongside Trevor and enjoyed a roasted beet salad, followed by pan roasted ling cod or corn and mushroom risotto, with salted chocolate cookies for dessert.
All this wonderful fun from home helped to raise almost $5,000 for vulnerable kids in B.C. who will be receiving bags of food every week through the summer months.
Did you know that for the first time EVER, we will be able to feed our kids through the summer months while school is closed?
Our heartfelt gratitude to Chef Trevor and Fable Kitchen for making this evening possible. Chef Trevor’s vision, creativity and humour made the experience really special. It was awesome preparing dinner alongside his guidance and cheerleading through the live-chat.
